Pick of the Clips: Blood on the Ice
Published Date: 20/03/2012
Ice Hockey players aren’t the most placid of sportsmen at the best of times. Biff is as much a part of the game as the puck. Generally though, the punches won’t be thrown until there’s an on-ice incident.
That all changes when it comes to the ‘Cross River Rivals.’ In a NY Devils vs NY rangers match the puck hadn’t even hit the ice before all hell broke loose. Gloves, sticks and helmets were quickly thrown off as the players got down to business.
Ryan Carter squared up to Stu Bickel, Cam Janssen took on Brandon Prust and Eric Boulton landed a few on Michael Rupp. With gear strewn across the rink, blood on the ice there was a short delay as tempers cooled. The Rangers won 4-2.
